|4th Sep 2013||First Win Of The Season||The club finally recorded its first win of the season at the weekend – and what a win it was, with the Vets beating Goldings 8-1 on Sunday. There was no game for the First Team on Saturday; the Reserves however went down 3-1 to Hertford Heath, although the match was much tighter than the scoreline would suggest with the opposition leading 2-1 at half time, scoring their third just one minute before the final whistle.|

|25th Aug 2013||Early Season Blues||Despite 3 good performances since last weekend's County League season kick-off, Town's First Team have just one point from a possible nine. On Saturday, the home 3-2 defeat to Evergreen could easily have been a win for us, but if you don't take your chances then you inevitably suffer. Following heavy rain overnight the Vets' game against Old Minchendonians was called off due to waterlogging of the newly laid areas of the pitch, a huge disappointment for the team. Hopefully next weekend we will see them in action. On a more positive note, the Reserves recorded a 3-2 victory over Kimpton Rovers Reserves in their last pre-season friendly before they kick-off their season against Hertford Heath next weekend.|

|21st Nov 2004||High scores, good and bad!||On Saturday, the First Team's game against London Road (St, Peters) was postponed due to a frosty pitch, but the Reserves entertained Town's home crowd with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Buckhurst Hill Reserves. Meanwhile, the 'A's outplayed Cottered Reserves during their 6-1 victory with Chris Page scoring a brace against his former club.
Unfortunately it was the Vets who were outplayed this morning as they went down 8-0 against a strong and experienced Standon & Puckeridge outfit.
|9th Nov 2004||Who ate all the pies?||An interesting question; but probably not one which will be asked by Quizmaster Paul Attfield at our Quiz Night on 4th December at the Buntingford Football Facility.
Tickets, available from Paul or behind the bar, are priced at £6 per person and a buffet supper is included. No more than 8 people per team please.
|8th Nov 2004||Intermediate Cup news.||A trip to London Lions Reserves on 4th December is the reward for Town's First team as they progressed to Round 3 of the Herts Intermediate Cup, following their 4-0 victory over Little Munden on Saturday.
The Reserves too had a good weekend, winning 2-1 and the A's deservedly earned a point from 3rd-place Bengeo Tigers. The U18's won 4-2 on Sunday, but the Vets lost by the same scoreline against a youthful(ish) Buntingford Cricket Club.
|4th Nov 2004||The misery continues...||7 is usually a lucky number, but not so for Town last night, with the U18's and the First Team losing 7-4 and 7-1 respectively in their Cup competitions. One highlight though - Kyle Darcy scored his first goal for the club's first string.|

Let's hope for a better week to come.
|29th Oct 2004||Henry hits five again.||Charlie Henry scored 5 goals for the second time this season as the U18's destroyed Huntingdon 9-0 last night in wet and stormy conditions. Not to be outdone, Craig Gilbert scored a hat-trick. The other goalscorer was Mitchell Cox.|

|21st Oct 2004||The Henry show.||Move over Thierry, it's Charlie's turn!
Town's very own Charlie Henry scored 5 last night during the Under 18's 6-0 demolition of Royston Town U18's. In doing so, he has deservedly moved himself to the top of the leading goalscorers table.

|17th Oct 2004||Winning streak comes to an end.||Local rivals Standon & Puckeridge put and end to the First Team's 100% record yesterday, beating the home side by the only goal of the game. It has however been a remarkable run of 10 straight wins for Town and Paul Attfield's lads are to be congratulated for that.
The Reserves progressed in the Herts Junior Cup with a 2-1 win over Bengeo Tigers, and it was smiles all round for Alan Bradbury's 'A' side as they beat Elizabeth Allen Old Boys 'B' by 4 goals to 1.

However, Alan Bradbury is organising training for the 'A' Team at 6:30 on Tuesday at Norfolk Road.
|26th Sep 2004||Town maintain 100% record||Yesterday's 3-0 win over Allenburys Sports sees Paul Attfield's side 7 points clear at the top of the table, with a maximum 21 points from 7 games. The First team maintained their 100% record with a 2-1 victory over Little Munden; the Reserves and the 'A's both lost, 4-1 and 3-1 respectively.

Good luck to the lads!
|16th Aug 2004||Darcy leads the way.||Kyle Darcy bagged 4 goals for the Reserves on Saturday as Town's side's won 4 of their 5 matches over the weekend. |12th Apr 2004||Mugged by Munden.||Little Munden put a dampener on the First Team's final game of the season with an impressive 6-1 win. The lads should not feel too downhearted though - Munden demonstrated some excellent football, and their strength, organisation and pace was of a very high quality.
One of the reasons we joined the County League was to improve the standard of football at the club. And it has improved this season; Munden have now shown us the next level to aspire to.
|3rd Apr 2004||Super Saturday!||It's taken nearly 2 years, but at last it's happened. All 3 teams have recorded a win on the same day! A big WELL DONE to the lads for their efforts, and for sticking together in what surely is a sign of things to come....|
|30th Mar 2004||Two Fine Performances||On Saturday Town held Herts Intermediate Cup finalists Evergreen to a 1-1 draw, ending our recent run of defeats. The Reserves were unlucky to lose 1-0 to 2nd-place Lemsford Reserves in an even and finely-balanced match, with the winner arriving only 15 minutes from time.

E-mail your idea to our club secretary.
|14th Mar 2004||Good performances, nothing to show.||Yesterday at Luynes Rise, 2 goals in the final 10 minutes from league-leaders Whitewebbs saw the First Team go down 3-1, whilst at Norfolk Road the 'A's put up a spirited performance, losing 4-2 to their league-leaders Wodson Park 'A'. The Reserves had a friutless visit to Watford, where they lost 3-0 to London Road (St Peters), battling against the odds with a side weakened by a lack of substitutes and a sending-off.|
|7th Mar 2004||First Team hit for six.||The 'A's achieved the most impressive result yesterday with a creditable 0-0 draw away at 4th-place John Warner Reserves. Town's Reserves also drew, 1-1 with bottom-placed Kimpton Rovers Reserves, but the First Team suffered a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Lemsford.|
|2nd Mar 2004||Tough luck...||The First Team lost 5-1 to a strong Benington team on Saturday, whilst the 'A's lost 1-0 to 4th-place Elizabeth Allen 'A' in a game from which they should have earned a point. You make your own luck in football; we can't seem to manage it!|

|11th Jan 2004||Double-victory for Allenburys||Allenburys Sports 'did the double' over Town this weekend with a 3-1 win over our First Team and a 4-3 victory over the Reserves. Two missed penalties for Buntingford condemned them to defeat, whilst the Reserves fought back to lead from a 2-0 deficit, only to concede a further 2 goals before the final whistle.
Not unexpectedly, the 'A's crashed out of the Division 3 Cup to Wodson Park 'A', although the final scoreline of 8-2 does not reflect the determined resistance they put up against the league-leaders.

Standon scored first thanks to a Kev Edge own-goal, but Town out-played their visitors during the second half, with Scott Nash equalising, and the winner resulting from a superb header courtesy of Standon's Simon Jenkins.
The Reserves put up a splendid performance this afternoon, going 1-0 in front against 2nd place Knebworth, thanks to a goal from Ross Barker, but eventually went down as 2-1 losers.
