Club Statement: Covid-19

17th Mar 2020
Following yesterday's government announcement, Mark Cotton, our Chairman, issued the following statement:
As a club we believe that we have a duty of care towards everyone involved in our activities and the wider community in which we are based.
We have been closely monitoring the advice surrounding the current outbreak of Covid-19.
This is clearly a situation which has been changing rapidly with, at times, seemingly contradictory advice and opinions.
In light of today's revised guidance from the government the club has taken the decision to suspend all footballing activities across all our squads until such a time as we believe the risks are at an acceptable level - this includes training, matches and our Walking Football sessions.
We hope to be able to resume doing what we love as soon as possible!
We would like to take this opportunity to urge everyone to familiarise themselves with the current public health messages and ensure that they observe this parts which are relevant to them.
Finally, I am aware that many in our community may feel uncertain and isolated at this time so can I please encourage you all to make an effort to look out for each other at this uncertain time - we will get through this if we stick together!
Stay safe!
Mark Cotton, Chairman BTFC.
