A Change of Fortune

16th Apr 2018
The last couple of weeks have seen the club finally being able to report some better news.
Following a strong performance during the 2-1 defeat at Letchworth Garden City Eagles, Town again played well this Saturday, drawing 1-1 with Standon & Puckeridge; we were perhaps unlucky not to come away with all 3 points.
We are now a stronger side than we were a couple of months ago.
The Vets too have had a good fortnight, beating Harbetts Old Boys 3-2 yesterday.
The week before they had a 9-0 win over Athletics Old Boys, with Glen Doughty soaring up the goalscorer's table thanks to his 5 goals during the match.
The Vets have netted 9 goals on just two other occasions since their formation in 2002 - a 9-0 victory over Angel 2 years ago, and a 9-4 win over Therfield Vets in March 2010.
They have yet to net 10 though - watch this space!
To sum up a good fortnight for the club we have at last seen our Reserves in league action for the first time in months, and despite a 4-1 defeat to Knebworth Reserves, the performance was good and gives us a good foundation to build upon.
