Town's Reserves progressed to Round 2 of the Bingham-Cox Cup on Saturday, following a 3-2 victory over Bushey Sports Reserves.
Manager Mick Nolan suggested that the opposition were still looking for Dick Turpin after Buntingford's victory in a match which Town were fortunate to win.
Captain Chas Bailey's hat-trick secured the win for the highwaymen who will now face Kings Elite in the next round.
Town's First Team went down 7-1 to Cuffley during manager Bruce Knapp's first game in charge.
1-0 down following a penalty in the first 15 minutes, Buntingford equalalised and competed well only to concede 2 goals just before the half-time interval.
The first 20 minutes of the second half saw Town match the opposition but once the fourth goal was conceded the team's shape evaporated and Cuffley eventually ran out as convincing winners.
