Salmon to Step Down

24th Apr 2015
First Team manager Laurence Salmon has informed us that he intends to step down from his post following the club's Presentation Evening on June 13th.
In his letter of resignation Laurence indicated that he has been deliberating about his position for a number of months.
His main ambitions for Buntingford Town FC have always been to ensure that the club has a stable platform from which to progress and this is reflected in his decision to wait until the end of the season before he leaves, rather than to introduce uncertainty mid-season.
And, it has to be said, thanks to his tenure we now have a great platform from which we can build for the future.
Laurence has been with the club since 2001, serving as manager of both the Reserves and First Team, as well as on the club's committee.
He also is one of the few people still with us who has played for the club in the McMullen League, the County League and also for the Veterans.
His commitment and enthusiasm have never been questioned and although we are sad to see him go he can do so knowing that his efforts have helped the club to thrive.
He now wishes to devote more time to himself and his family and we would like to thank him for all of his work over the years for our club and wish him well for the future.
He will be sorely missed.
Next week we will be formally advertising for a new First Team manager; however, if you are interested in discussing the position before then, please do not hesitate to contact the club Secretary or any other Committee Member.
