A Game of Two Halves.
31st Oct 2011
Saturday's home defeat to Chipperfield Corinthians was heavy but Town could have emerged victors had they performed as well during the second half as they did in the first.
Going in at half time with the scores level at 1-1, Town's first string demonstrated enough menace against the Corinthians to leave the watching supporters optimistic about the second half.
For a while it went well, but once the opposition scored the second, and then the third, confidence drained from the team and shape and composure was lost.
From then on defeat was inevitable.
We know that we are experiencing hard times, but with 17 league matches still left, survival in the Division is still in our own hands; have we the character for the fight?
The Reserves continued their good run of form with 3 points against Codicote and are currently well-placed in the league.
There's no room for compacency though as tough fixtures against Letchworth and Baldock are on the horizon.
The Vets were back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Therfield, the rejuvenated Chris Carter bagging his 6th of the season; it must be the new boots!
