Vets return from tour.
14th Sep 2010
Town's Veterans have returned from their annual tour in good spirits despite suffering a defeat at the hands of South Devon Veterans. See the Devon FA's match report here.
The fun started early in the morning on Friday; by the time the match kicked-off at 11:00 on Sunday morning copious calories had been consumed and paracetamol was the pain killer of choice!
Nevertheless, after a slow start the hangovers soon dispersed and, although the opposition were strong, Town's Vets put in a good performance.
They were however disappointed with the final 4-1 scoreline, knowing that they can do better.
But, the tour was as good as ever, and thanks to Dan Savage for organising the excellent accomodation, Nick Savage for booking the game, and Keith Savage for running the line; a veritable hat-trick for Savage clan!
We would also like to express our thanks to Paul Morrison (Devon FA) and Simon Glanfield (South Devon Vets) for their hospitality, and also the bar staff in the clubhouse for giving us such a good time; that is one episode of Eastenders we are never likely to forget!
