Frank Aylott

29th Jul 2009
It was with great sadness when we at the club learned that our Vice President, Frank Aylott, passed away at the weekend.
Frank was the mainstay of Buntingford Town FC for many decades and during his time has stood by the club through thick and thin.
Without him, we would not be here now.
Whether he was acting as a player, a manager or a club secretary, his commitment to the club was second to none and his enthusiasm for the game was plain for all to see.
It is a tribute to the man that even well into his 70s he insisted in marking out the pitch for the team, a task that most footballers take for granted and have never even attempted.
Dedication beyond the call of duty.
His funeral will be on Wednesday 5th August at 12:45pm at St Peter's Church in Buntingford.
The family have asked for no flowers to be sent, but donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be very welcome - please put your contribution in an envelope marked 'FW Aylott' through the letterbox of Austin Funeral Services which is opposite the Coop supermarket.
Our sincere condolences go out to Frank's family and friends; he will be sorely missed.
