Turning the Corner?
18th Mar 2009
Following a string of poor results the First Team put in an excellent performance last night which will go a long way towards restoring some confidence and pride.
Baldock Town Letchworth, playing on their own turf at the Herts County Ground, dominated long periods of the first half and deservedly took a 2-0 lead with them into the half-time period.
Town were awarded a penalty early in the second half which was calmly put away by Ross Barker and we then saw some of the best football played by the side for months.
Indeed, Town had the best of the half only to see the opposition bag a well-worked third goal with 10 minutes remaining.
Depite this Buntingford still created chances and were rewarded for a sturdy performance with a goal from Scott Little making the final tally 3-2 to the home side.
This peformance, along with an excellent showing by the Reserves on Saturday and a good win for the Vets against strong opposition on Sunday indicates just what can be achieved with hard work and commitment.
