Countdown to the season ....
14th Aug 2003
The leading goalscorer's table has now been cleared down; Town are ready for the new season's campaign.
On Saturday the First Team warm up for next Thursday's County League match with a Lee Oram Cup game against Cottered. The Reserves kick-off the league season on Tuesday evening at Cuffley. Both teams have performed well in pre-season friendlies, and the strength within the club was demonstrated on Tuesday evening when the 'A' team beat a strong Allenbury's Sports team 4-3.
At BTFC we are always interested in new players and also people to get involved behind the scenes. For all players our club offers well structured high standards of coaching, ambition, physio support, quality equipment and progression opportunities to bigger clubs.
If you play football we have a team you can play in.
Our First and Reserve teams play in the Herts Senior County League and we are always looking for players to strengthen our squad.
If you have played competitive football and are over 16 we will be interested in you - email Richard Daly or phone him on 07980 828683 for more details.
Our 'A' team is our 3rd team, which introduces players new to senior football to a less competitive environment and plays in the Hertford & District Football League - if you are interested email Alan Bradbury or phone 07787 512956.
Our Veterans' team provides football for over 35's and plays friendly matches on Sunday mornings - email Kevin White, or phone 07796 927964 if you fancy a run out with the old codgers.
If you are interested in being involved off the pitch and contributing to your local club then you might wish to join our committee or matchday team.
Your role in the committee can be as much or as little as you wish - committee members do a variety of things such as assistance at fundraising events, sell programme advertising, attend meetings and generally help to progress the club forward.
Getting as much help as possible on matchdays is key to a club like ours.
If you can regularly spare the time on a Saturday morning or afternoon to help it would be greatly appreciated.
For home games tasks include roping the pitch (1 hour), putting up nets (30 mins), changing room preparation (30 mins), distributing free programmes (10 mins), linesman (2 hours), packing away ropes & benches (30 mins), cleaning changing rooms (30 mins).
If there is anyone who feels they can help with any task or wants to join the committee please call Richard Daly.
