Hertford Utd v First Team, 25 Sep 2021 (League)

Buntingford Won 5-3

After last week’s impressive away win Bunts travelled a short way up the A10 to St Margaretsbury to take on Hertford Utd and try and improve our away form.

Bunt started the game poorly finding it hard to get into their possession football rhythm and soon finding themselves 2-0 down after only 12mins and it wasn’t until the 22min that a decent chance came when Langley shot just wide.

5 mins later Welch sent Reid through who tucked the ball away; 2-1.

Chances then flowed with good goal scoring opportunities from Owen, Langley and Collins but the half finished 2-1.

The second half saw a change of the tide with Bunts dominating but unfortu¬nately Hertford’s only chance resulted in a goal on 49mins, to put the home side 3-1 up.

This did not deter the positive Buntingford team who began to really dominate the game before Owen crossed for Reid to get his second of the game.

With the score now at 3-2 it wasn’t long before Bunt were on level terms when another fine delivery from Owen saw defender Freddy Dooling score with a fine headed goal 3-3.

Numerous chances came and went until, on 75mins, Harry Watson caught the Hertford keeper out by scoring straight from a corner kick.

Now 4-3 up, Town were dominant, and with 80minutes on the clock Watson was put through to confidently finish past the keeper to cap a fine team comeback, from 2-0 down to win 5-3!
