Slow Start to the Year
14th Jan 2019
With the notable exception of the club's Veterans, Town's sides have not hit 2019 on the front foot.
The First Team have shown glimpses of good form, and have been involved in 2 close matches, going down 1-0 to Bovingdon Reserves and gaining a point at Welham Albion on Saturday.
Our Reserves have lost their first two matches 2019, going down 5-1 and 4-1 to Stevenage Borough Community and Hatfield Town U25s respectively.
The team really has potential, but is currently struggling to finish of its chances.
But, this is a young side, and the more experienced it becomes the more likely it is that they will eventually come good.
Town's Ladies have had just 1 run-out this year and lost 7-0 to AFC Dunstable Ladies; despite the result we continue to be impressed by their team spirit.
The Ladies are a new venture for the club and we are sure that their enthusiasm for the game will see results come their way.
Town's Vets have also played just 1 game this year, a 10-2 victory over Athletic Old Boys during which Nathan Searle earned a double hat-trick.
They were due to play the same side again on Sunday, but the opposition postponed the match!
