Cup Disappointment

11th Apr 2017

On Saturday Town's Reserves were eliminated from the Cecil Hudson Cup at the semi-final stage.

Unable to field its strongest squad, and with a stand-in goalkeeper, the side put in a spirited performance against league-leaders Bovingdon Reserves.

Danny Lane was on target for Town, and with the scores level at 1-1 after 90 minutes the tie went into extra time.

Bovingdon's George Loosley went on to score his second of the match to see his side through to the final.

Buntingford's First Team threw away a 3-0 lead late on in the game to earn just 1 point from its match against Belstone, keeping themselves just clear of a relegation place.

The Vets, on the hottest day of the year so far, went down 7-1 to the Arsenal Celebrity side, but had the prestige of leading the match 1-0 early on thanks to Alcino Monteiro's first goal for the club.

Many thanks to the Arsenal Celebrity side for an enjoyable match to watch.
