Cecil Hudson Cup Final
29th Apr 2015
Town's Reserves put in a superb performance last night against Bovingdon Reserves in the final of the Cecil Hudson Cup but were beaten by 2 goals to 1.
Town's young side faced a determined Bovingdon at Ware FCs ground and, under much pressure for the opening phase of the game, soon found itself 1 goal down.
However, heads did not drop and Buntingford took the game to the opposition, equalising through a Jacob Dawson header.
Buntingford played out the first half on top of proceedings although Bovingdon always looked dangerous on the break.
The second period of play was evenly matched, but Bovingdon scored midway through the half to take the lead, Buntingford ruing a number of missed chances before then.
Despite a battling performance from Town to level the scores and force extra time, Bovingdon eventually lifted the trophy.
Nevertheless this was a great Buntingford performance - full credit to all of the players and manager Andy Calvert for putting on such a good show, a performance the club can be proud of.
