Fixtures pile up as League shrinks
9th Apr 2014
With just 1 month remaining the First Team find themselves with 10 matches left to complete the season; the Reserves fare a little better, having just 5 games left.
The announcement earlier in the week that Tansley have now resigned from the League brought the total of teams lost this season to 3.
The result is that pressure for some sides on reaching the end of the season has lessened, it has not helped us as we have already played them twice.
There was no action for the First Team on Saturday as the match against Welwyn Garden City Reserves was called off at late because they could not field a team.
Assuming that we are awarded the 3 points, the First Team will then have 9 games left; nevertheless it is going to be a close-call if we are to complete the season by 10th May.
The Reserves had no game on Saturday, and the Vets were the only team in action, running out as 3-0 winners over Wormley Rovers, with James Neill scoring two and Richard Kay the third of the match.
