A Great Weekend
4th Nov 2013
The first weekend in November 2013 was one to remember for a number of reasons.
Firstly, a great turn-out at the annual Firework Display ensured that yet again the event was successful.
A big thank you to everyone who came along to support us, to the helpers on the night, the staff at The Bury and Fox Fireworks who ran the display.
There were fireworks on the pitch too with Town's 3 sides each recording a win over the same weekend for the first time this season.
The First Team comprehensively beat Old Parmiterians 5-2, with Louis Gilbert getting among the goals with a brace; we are now looking forward to travelling to Old Parms in the Herts Intermediate Cup in 2 weeks time!
The Reserves put 4 past Letchworth Garden City Eagles Reserves to no reply, a brace from Marcus McKechnie helping to secure the victory.
Probably the most impressive result of the weekend came when the Vets beat Standon & Puckeridge 4-1, the first time Town's old boys have beaten their local rivals after many years of trying.
Yet again, one player scored a brace, this time the honour going to Richard Kay; but, the most notable achievement of the weekend goes to James Neill who scored his 100th goal for Town during the Vet's win on Sunday.
It will be hard to top these results next weekend, but I'm sure we'll give it a go!
