2013 Kicks Off With A Whimper!
6th Jan 2013
The much awaited New Year spluttered into existance with the weather yet again putting paid to a lot of our football.
The rain in recent weeks left pitches soggy underfoot and both County games were postponed yesterday; hopefully a prolonged dry (or less damp) spell will mean that those champing at the bit will be back into action on Saturday.
The Vets however did manage two games this weekend; the first at the Baldock Arena where they were soundly beaten 6-1 by Biggleswade, and the second a Norfolk Road where they were unlucky to suffer another defeat thanks to 2 late goals from Rickmansworth Vets.
It was better news this weekend for one of the club's old boys, Charlie Henry, who helped his side Macclesfield Town during their 2-1 win over Cardiff City in the FA Cup; no doubt he will be relishing the chance to perform in the 4th round when The Silkmen will face either Wigan or Bournemouth!
