Vets in Cup Thriller.
11th Oct 2011
On Sunday Town's Veterans were in action in the Herts FA Veterans Cup when they faced Hadley at The Bury.
The match was a pretty tight affair against a side we knew nothing of; Hadley led early on but Town struck back only to go into the half-time break 2-1 down.
After the restart Buntingford scored twice to lead 3-2, but conceded before the 90 minutes were up; with the scores at 3-3, extra time was the order of the day, and at the end of the additional 20 minutes the scores were level at 4-4.
Unfortunately penalties did not go our way, and a superb performance ended in disappointment as Hadley marched on to the next round.
On Saturday, the First Team recorded their second league win of the season, building on last weekend's Aubrey Cup victory, by beating visitors Codicote 5-2, with a Chris Babbage hat-trick delighting the crowd.
Also on Saturday Baldock Town Reserves defeated Town's second string 4-0; we look forward to a better result this weekend when we face Codicote Reserves at The Bury.
