Yet again the footballing calendar was interupted this weekend as numerous postponements in the Herts Senior County League were announced due to torrential rain on Friday evening.
Both Buntingford matches, home and away, were called off; in fact all Premier Division games were postponed, and just 4 games in total throughout the whole league were played.
Of these, a 5-0 victory by Goffs Oak over Kimpton saw the victors return to the top of Divsion One; Buntingford are now in 2nd place, level on points with St Peters but with a superior goal difference.
Town's Reserves, who were due to play in the Reserve Cup, still sit in 5th place with games in hand over the teams above them.
Town's Vets did play their Herts FA Veterans' Cup semi-final match against Whitewebbs on Sunday, the pitch at Cheshunt looking surprisingly good.
Unfortunately however, despite a spirited performance which saw an under-strength Buntingford drawing 1-1 after 45 minutes, Whitewebbs eventually emerged as 6-1 winners and cup-finalists where they will face either Garston or Bengeo Trinity - whose game was, surprise surprise, postponed!
