Vets vanquished by Vagabonds.

6th Jul 2009
Last weekend Town's Veterans played their first match of the new season and were soundly beaten by Rod Stewart's Vagabond Old Boys 8-0.
The match was played in stifling heat on an immaculate pitch at Rod Stewart's Epping estate.
The Vagabonds, playing the style of two-touch and free-passing football we usually experience when we visit Olvega, never looked in any real trouble against a Buntingford side which seemed out of sorts.
Nevertheless, despite the defeat the lads had a great time and would like to thank our hosts for a very enjoyable day on what was probably the best playing surface we have ever encountered - it's a shame our football couldn't live up to the occassion!
