Welcome back Steve.
8th Jan 2009
Buntingford Town FC is delighted to welcome Steve Foster back to the club as he takes on the role of First Team manager for the remainder of the season.
As a player Steve played for Canvey Island, Concord Rangers, Romford and Barkingside as a full-back or midfielder.
He began coaching in senior football at Buntingford Town FC as an assistant manager during the 2004/05 season, during which time the side won the Herts Senior County League Division One title and the Herts Intermediate Cup.
He then joined Stansted FC, which was in the Essex Senior League, again as assistant manager, winning two Uttlesford Charity Cups, highlights of which were beating Bishops Stortford & Braintree Town in the 2006 semi-final & final respectively.
After a short break from the game Steve joined Herts County League side Cuffley FC, just to help out on a casual coaching basis, and eventually took over the First Team for the remaining 8 weeks of the season, lifting the side out of the bottom two where they had been all season.
During that time he also managed to blood many of the Reserve Team into the First Team squad.
Steve has spent this season scouting for several clubs higher in the non-league pyramid and he is also planning a new project which will kick-off next season, called Southill Alexander FC.
We are sure that his experience and knowledge of the game will help steer the club through what has been a challenging season for us.
