Town went down 3-1 to Brentford at Griffin Park with their heads held high in Round 2 Proper of the FA Youth Cup.
Despite conceding a goal within the first 5 minutes of the game, Town never gave up hope of meeting Arsenal in the next round of the cup, and fought back to level the score thanks to a well-worked free-kick which would have bettered the efforts of most Premiership clubs.
Brentford retook the lead before the half time whistle, and despite the obvious strength and ability of the opposition Town shaded the second period with their pace and enthusiasm - indeed, had the referee not ignored what seemed to be a definate penalty shout 10 minutes from time the crowd may have been awarded the luxury of a period of extra time and the obligitory penalty shoot-out.
Alas, it was not to be, as Brentford secured the victory with an 89th minute goal.
It was all too much for the Chief Steward!
Town would like to thank Brentford for their hospitality and good humour and the club wishes them well for the remainder of the competition - go on to beat the Gooners and lift the Cup!
