Details of last season's achievements along with plans for the forthcoming campaign were presented at last Thursday's Open Evening.
Delighted Buntingford Town officials chose Thursday evening's Open Evening to announce the appointment of their new first team assistant-manager Tony Galvin to a packed clubhouse at The Bury.
First-team boss Paul Attfield spoke in glowing terms of the former Spurs and Republic of Ireland winger and told an attentive audience ‘I am delighted that Tony has chosen to join us and I look forward to working with him as we prepare for the new campaign with a great deal of expectancy’.In addition to Galvin, a holder of a UEFA ‘A’ coaching badge, the World Class Homes Herts County League Premier Division newcomers will also be helped by Mel Jeffries, again a UEFA ‘A’ coach, who will, along with his duties with Cambridge United, look to work with the promising youth players at the club.
Meanwhile, former first-team coach Steve Walker assumes the new role of Director of Football.
Presenting the club's plans for next season Buntingford's Richard Daly was pleased to announce that their youth teams will be participating in the FA Youth Cup for the first time in the forthcoming campaign, and announced a high-profile pre-season campaign that will include home matches with Southern League Division One East outfit Enfield plus Ryman League Division Two side Ware.
A review of the previous season was also given which saw a delighted Daly claim that the last campaign was the most successful ever for the 108 year old club.
Honours included The Herts FA Intermediate Cup, The Herts Senior County League Division One Championship, the League's top scorer's shield and the League's Sportsmanship award voted by all members clubs.
The audience was also reminded by Daly of achievements of the Reserve team who won promotion and a successful season for the youth sides.
In continuing to develop the club Daly was pleased to present plans to add a fourth senior team into the Hertford & District League plus two new youth sides at U17s and U16s bringing Town's number of teams to nine in total.
Pre-Season training for Town will commence at the Buntingford Community centre on Monday, July 4th, and, as always, new players are welcome to attend.
