Town too strong for the Heath
4th Oct 2004
Four goals before the half-time whistle saw a comfortable Buntingford victory over Hertford Heath on Saturday. The Reserves were winners too, as were the Sunday U18s, but all was not totally rosy in the garden..
With the Firsts and Reserves winning 5-2 and 3-2 respectively, Saturday would have been completely satisfying were it not for the fact that the 'A's had to cancel their match due to a last-minute lack of players.
Absentees due to unavailability and injury for both the Firsts and Reserves saw the 'A's decimated on match-day morning; this is a situation we would not like to see happen again and steps will be taken to avoid a repetition.
Also this weekend it was bad news for the Vets as they suffered a 6-3 defeat at the hands of Tynebridge Vets, although it must be said that with the scores a 3-3 with 15 minutes to go this was a good performance from our boys.
The Sunday U18's Herts County Youth Cup win was tempered by the fact that Luke Jones suffered a broken leg during the game; we wish him a speedy and satisfactory recovery.
