The club is very pleased to announce that Paul Attfield has joined us in the role of First Team Manager. Assisting Paul will be Steve Walker, along with another new face, Steve Foster; we have also aquired a goalkeeping coach in the form of Medwyn Williams.
Last season Paul Attfield was manager of Royston Reserves, who finished the season strongly, winning every game bar one this year to end up 5th in the Spartans South Midlands Reserve Division One.
They also lifted the Spartans South Midlands Reserve Challenge Trophy earlier this month, hammering top of the table Dunstable 6-1 in the final.
As well as bringing along his expertise, Paul will also be managing two under-18 teams who will play Wednesdays and Sundays; his current youth teams have again demonstrated success this season, and the club is very excited at having a youth squad for the first time in it's history.
We hope that this will help Buntingford Cougars' players make a smooth transition into senior football.
Assisting Paul will be our very own Steve Walker, and also Steve Foster, who has a history of playing at Barkingside and Canvey Island, newly crowned champions of the Ryman Premier Division and FA Trophy finalists.
Steve has also arranged a pre-season friendly with Canvey Island for the 24th July - should be an interesting match!
The club has further been strenghtened by goalkeeping coach Medwyn Williams, club physio Joe Miller, first team physio Samara Smith, and our first ever chaplain, Steve Blackaby.
As was the case last season, the Reserves will be managed by Maurice Cook, assisted by Stuart Barber; the A's will be managed by Alan Bradbury and the Vets will have Kevin White at the helm.
With such a strong management team throughout the club, Town now look forward to next season with great optimism.
