We have been asked by a number of people about the on-going situation regarding pitch improvements. Things are progressing steadily...
Buntingford Community Centre
The renovation work at Luynes Rise Community Centre has vastly improved grass coverage and quality on the upper pitch and we are confident this will result in a better playing surface.
We would like to express our thanks to the Community Centre Management and Town Council for their support in this project.
Because of the dry weather new grass growth is slow, so protection will remain in place until matches start - home games have been switched to our opponents' venues up until 30th August.
The forthcoming season's home games will continue to be played on the upper level.
We have not been allowed to switch to the lower level, so apologies to those residents who have talked to us about this, but unfortunately it is not our decision.
We would also like to thank all users of this community facility for their patience and understanding as some areas have been roped off - please bear with us - we are certain the end result will benefit us all.
Norfolk Road Playing Fields
Despite the fire at the Norfolk Road pavilion the 'A' Team plan to play home matches there, and hope to use the changing facilities at the nearby school.
BTFC raised the issue of poor drainage at the playing fields, and the Town Council have subsequently submitted an application to the Football Foundation to improve the situation - so fingers crossed.
Buntingford Town Football Club are pleased to be driving the improvements in the town and will continue to strive to improve footballing facilities in Buntingford, which should benefit both the town's footballers and also the local community who use the parks.
